for the REAL facts on midwives view the video here on youtube called “Home Birth”. Just because a midwife cannot do a C-section, doesn’t mean they don’t have the ability to have transportation before delivery begins! Don’t let fake docs like these fool you, please be educated about midwives!!!!

As a midwife, I am very disappointed with this information. Midwives CAN give pain medication and order epidurals……WAY TOO MUCH MISINFORMATION!!! Try again, please….next time get it right.

To say that midwives cannot adminster emergency services is blatantly false. Midwives are trained to deal with emergencies – they might not do c/sections but they don’t sit on their hands in an emergency! This is awful,

It is sad because schools are teaching nurses that midwives can’t do much. Things have changed and they need to get their stories straight.

A great video to watch is “The Business of Being Born” it’s a documentary on what hospitals and doctors encourage birth to look like. I guess you have to ask yourself would you rather your birth be treated like an oil change or would you rather a human experience? Midwives are very educated people who specialize in the birthing field. In Ontario, they travel with equipment equal to that of a level 1 hospital facility and are University educated.

thats so sad to hear that only 10% of births in america are done by midwifes, in england 100% of births and pregnancy are handled by midwifes, women lose out in america to much because its seen to be a highly medicated thing, im so glad in british and not have to fight for my choices to have a natural meds free delivery with all my children
