I saw in the news that a woman ended up in a wheel chair from getting an epidural, which some people might say is from wrong placement but that can happen since some people don’t know what they are doing or don’t care.

Aren’t we supposed to have pain during childbirth, though?

i’ve been told the I can’t have one because of the surgery I’ve had on my back

those other drugslike th morphine and o on they give you dont even help the pain and they dope you and the baby up all they do is cloud your mind and weaken you…those contractions are no lie….imagine your whole torso having one big “charley horse” and get worse and worse and longer and longer…i myself have a whole nother respect for women after experiancing them..i bet chopping your leg off with a dull axe would hurt as bad

I am scared of the pain of childbirth but I am even more terrified of having a needle stuck into my spine! I am going to try with everything in me to have a natural birth! *shivers* Not to mention the fact that millions of women before epidurals existed gave birth and dealt with the pain anyway… I am hoping that I can be strong like that!

I loved my epidural. I would never have a baby without one. I had no problems, and it was so completely worth it. My baby was fine — he breastfed easily and grew up to be amazingly intelligent.
