Why do teens keep getting pregnant? |

Because girl’s can’t keep their legs closed.

And so many teens are irresponsible about sex. They don’t take the time to learn about contraceptives or diseases, or pregnancy, many of them have sex because either they feel their ready to at a young age, or because of peer pressure.

Many of them probably made the mistake once of having sex and then have to face the consequences of pregnancy.

There are also some guys out there that probably try to talk the girl into not using condoms because it may "feel better" and they don’t stop to think "Hey, maybe this isn’t such a great idea."

Cuz they know no better besides wanting to enjoy their life. All they want to do is have fun and they ignore the consequences. I’m tired of hearing all these mothers saying ( I regret having sex at such a young age).. guess what… Live with it and stop whining about it. It was a choice you made, a very unwise choice as a matter of fact.. but you knew no better… So yeah…

And it’s all displayed and encouraged on tv, in movies and in songs.

they have no idea what they are getting into for them like is
all about myspace and cell phones and being in the mall they see familys with kids and babys and just try and copy what they see really
most of them come from broken homes , and want to change there lifes for the better but in the long run they end up hurting there selfs
being a teen and pregnant not a good idea

Okay, I’m 15 pregnant with my second child. Yes I was on birth control, and no I’m not an idiot. I am a hard working mother..I go to school, go to work, do a fabulous job of raising my child and LOVE IT!! I do agree that most of the teens getting pregnant is because of a lack of responsibility…but that’s not the case for all of them.

not only because they are having sex, but also because they are getting raped… some ppl don’t realize that teens may get pregnant because some one raped them and altho yes abortion is an option, some teens are 100% against abortion (such as myself) no matter who the father is. so to answer your question, it is because of sexually relationships within or without the teens will. as well as too much mtv

quite simply…because they’re dumb.

Most of it’s lack of planning. Either they just don’t think of it and they have sex when the opportunity arises (Hormones)…Or they submit very weakly to the idea of abstinence, which then gets swept away when the aforementioned hormones kicking in.

Basically, it’s because they don’t plan ahead for sex.

They don’t think before they do anything the teens that do get pregnant aren’t likely to be very successful when are grown adults. (not saying this happens to all teens who get pregnant)

A lot of parents don’t talk to their teens in a reasonable way, most of the time, because of religion. The teens don’t feel comfortable asking for birth control, condoms, advice, etc. Although they learn all about sex in school, they need to have a supportive family.

And those with good parents who talk to them about it and offer to buy them condoms and birth control…..stupidity.

they are stupid. teens are also afraid to be judged when obtaining contraceptives. hormones in teens makes them think that they are in love so it doesn’t matter if they get preggo. again, they are stupid and don’t know the importance of a condom.

they don’t wanna use a condom (it makes it harder to "feel" everything, or just don’t wanna buy them), they think they can’t get pregnant (lack of education, or just think they’re invincible), some actually try to get pregnant (they think it’ll help them keep a guy with them), and so many more reasons.

Perhaps because they’re using preservatives in an attempt to not get pregnant? Preservatives are great for keeping fruit fresh, but do little to keep one from getting pregnant.

They see a lot of their younger peers with babies.. makes them want one. Don’t realize how hard things will be when the baby is really there! People just love to post their belly pictures on facebook… almost like its a competition or something… sad.

lack of education. "safe sex" doesn’t mean you won’t get pregnant…
¿Preservatives? will not keep one from getting pregnant. No contraceptive will either, always a chance.

And sometimes too much education such as telling teens there’s only a 1 in 300 chance that one will get pregnant. haha
