Women may blame the men for pregnancy, but believe me, Society blames the woman. For centuries, women have paid the price. In Afghanistan, the Taliban took the women to the public square and shot her, while the man involved walked free. Centuries ago, the adulteress had a Scarlet Letter branded on her forehead. And, since teen pregnancy is such a problem, it is the girls who are singled out as promiscuous, certainly not the boys. Not long ago, illegitimate children were called bastards, and the fact was noted on their birth certificates, and both the mother and child were shunned.
In today’s world, the answer seems to me to be with birth control. There is no reason for unwanted pregnancies. Use condoms, for Heaven’s sake. It could save your life…and it certainly can save you from a pregnancy. There are many forms of birth control. Select one. But remember, the rythmn system advised by some churches is not reliable.
if she would have closed her legs how would you have had sex with her? takes 2 to tango babe.
and im so sure you had nothing to do with talking her into it at all did ya bub?
lol. i agree for the most part. it take two to make a baby. most girls i have met that are pregnant don’t blame the guys, but i don’t know what type of girls you’ve encountered. considering it’s thier own body shouldn’t they take the precautions to keep from getting pregnant. LIKE BIRTH CONTROL??? i think a lot of pregnancies end up bitter when they have sex and as soon as the guy finds out she’s pregnant he runs away. i think THAT is very immature. but of course the woman is always to blame as much (if not more) as the man.
Good point. After all, it’s a feminist canon that women have sole rights and responsibilities for their bodies. Therefore it is SOLELY the woman’s responsibility to exercise precautions against unwanted pregnancy. This includes refusing to have sex with a man who is not wearing protection.
More importantly, stop blaming a man for showing trust in you when it comes to birth control. This is like saying that it is partially a woman’s fault to be raped because she trusted a man not to rape her.
"A lot" of women do that? I’m not so sure about that. But obviously, any woman who lay the blame solely on the man is playing the victim. Of course she had just as much to do with it.
Just wrap it up Romeo.
Yes I agree that it’s a two way street, personally…I take ultimate responsibility for my own body.
I’m not leaving protection up to anybody but me.
But from a practical standpoint, why on earth would any man go in without the glove?
You guys know the cards are stacked against you, you know the risks.
A package of condoms costs less than $10, and you can find them just about anywhere these days…are you that broke? that lazy? that irresponsible? Wrap it up!
Absurd fertility resulting into closed-minded bigotry, but oh she wanna be a "m-o-m-m-y" so she can go to the supermarket and blab about the pangs of motherhood… Brilliant women are not just adorable, physically perfect, they do not see fertility and related device as means to ensnare a male. They know all too well how to capture someone’s attention, and retain that interest, less irresponsible manufacture…
Yes, it’s true, pregnancy is a two-sided issue. Both partners are to blame. If a man doesn’t want to impregnate the woman, wear the condom. If the woman doesn’t want to be impregnated, make him wear the condom.
You should probably know that condoms don’t always prevent pregnancy. The Pill is a better way to go.
If the woman is not happy to be pregnant, it’s a man’s fault. If she is, he’s a "sperm donor".
It is a way to absolve the responsibility of women who didn’t intend to become pregnant by pretending she didn’t want to engage is sex, after the fact, of course.
As can be read in many of the answers here, men are criticized for not practicing contraception when it results in an unwanted pregnancy but women are never criticized by these same people for using abortion to resolve her inadequacy in the same encounter.
Men are told that they should "use condoms" or even just ‘don’t have sex’ if they don’t want to be party to a pregnancy but women are not given this same standard.
Men have two options:
abstinence or
contraception
compared to women’s 6:
abstinence,
contraception,
abortion,
adoption,
legally abandoning the infant after birth, and
keeping the baby and demanding the father pay her..
Note also, how many answers say that many men walk away from a pregnancy. There are some who attempt and even some few who are capable but since it is illegal, they are forever on the run from the law and face many punishments sooner or later including having their income garnished, being in debt for decades and even jail . Compare that to the fact that the mother, and only the mother can *legally* just walk away without any responsibility whatsoever.
This, in feminist dogma is what is know as "equality".
It takes two to make a kid, not only its the females responsibility but also the males.
YOU should keep YOUR legs closed, hows that. It works both ways moron. And technically it is the males fault for having sperm anyway, why dont you just cut off your scrotum if you say that comment about women.
You don’t want women blaming you, then either wrap your d!ck up or cross your own d@mn legs. Condoms are nothing compared to our personal options, and you should be wearing them for disease-prevention purposes anyway.
Gah, guys, haven’t you ever heard of AIDS or syphilis? Just wear a d@mn condom.
Why do a lot of men walk away when a woman becomes pregnant?
As if the man had no part in the sexual encounter? They say she should have kept her legs shut. Well you know what? YOU should have got it caught in your zipper! How’s that?
Anytime you have sex you should be ready to raise a child – male or female. Because you never know when its going to happen.
So atleast pick someone you think would be a good parent to your children If not a partner for life.
I think the reason that some women say this is because a woman has no choice but to be pregnant if pregnancy is what happens. When alot of men feel its okay to walk away and never look back. That happens alot. But the women cant just say "It Wasnt me" so to speak ; ) So I think thats where it stems from. Its not any one persons fault – its both parties fault. But who has to stay for the blame is what thats about.
I am not saying all men walk either – I know their are good men, good daddy’s and good husbands. But, in reality it does happen and thats where I think this comes from.
I don’t think "a lot" of women do this. It takes two to tango. Both sexual partners should know that the risk of pregnancy is there- even if you do use birth control. Nature finds a way to ensure survival of the species…so if you have sex, eventually (sometimes sooner rather than later…), you’re bound to end up with offspring.
Sometimes I think women succomb to intense pressure by males to have intercourse- because they feel like they won’t be able to keep the guy interested unless they do. It’s not an uncommon phenomena… both genders need to take responsibility for their actions. Men should be careful not to take advantage of women’s anxiety about saying "no" to sex. There are a few men out there who really are demanding, and a few women who really have a hard time fighting the idea that if they don’t give in, they won’t be able to keep him interested.
I think only the truly irresponsible blame men. I personally believe I was an active participant in getting pregnant. However, if men don’t want children, then they should be equally responsible for the birth control.
I guess it’s easier for them to just walk away if there’s an unplanned pregnancy.
Some fair points have been made in this post and the subsequent answers. Pregnancy is one sure outcome of intercourse–maybe not that time or this time but eventually it’s gonna happen folks. Blame is just because people feel scared and unprepared and don’t want to shoulder the burden alone. Men blame women–why weren’t you on the pill? Women blame men–where was your condom?
Just accept your part in this and take responsibility for the life you created.

<yawn>
Sex carries risk. Anyone not willing to accept the consequences should not take the risk.
The blame game is neither entertaining nor purposeful.

A woman could blame the man for impregnating her if he raped her. Otherwise she is just as responsible as the man.

It sounds like any rational, self-respecting woman would keep her legs closed to you.
Though I agree that birth control is just as much of a woman’s job as a man’s.
